Freebie Friday: Free immunizations

HOUSTON – Consumer Expert Amy Davis has some free help to make sure your kids are ready for their first day back to school.

Several places will be offering free immunizations to get your children up to date on their shot records before school starts.

The Superkids mobile clinic will be at Davila Elementary School, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday offering free immunizations and well child examinations.

The Children's Museum of Houston will offer immunizations administered by Texas Children's Hospital staff on Thursday, August 29. You don't need to pre-register but you do need to bring your child's immunization records. It will also be free museum night, so the kids can stay and play for free to help take the sting out.

Your student can read the classics for free this school year. Project Gutenberg is offering 42,000 free e-books to stretch their minds.

And children can enjoy a free lesson in the arts on Sunday, at the annual Theater District Open House from noon until 4 p.m. Families can take backstage tours and enjoy performances at the Alley Theater, Hobby Center Jones Hall and the Wortham Center.
