Job fair today to hire for changes

HOUSTON – Local 2 was the first to get new renderings of the new $156 million Houston Hobby International Terminal.

According airport officials, crews will break ground on the terminal by the end of September 2013.

The renderings show what the project will look like when construction is complete in 2015.

The renderings showed several new features including a new curbside drop off location, and an updated check-in area.

Frequent flier Scott Windish was impressed with the new look.

"It's an exciting new adventure for the city," said Windish. "It's going to be good for the airport, more action for the airport..it's going to be bigger, more planes and obviously it's good for the economy."

The overall approach and loop around the terminal will be updated and there will be a new parking garage on site as well.

Southwest Airlines said there will be five new gates designed for international departures and arrivals.

The three-year project is expected to to generate more than 10,000 jobs and have an economic impact of $1.6 billion.
