HOUSTON - Firefighters are investigating a house fire in the Heights after a dog was killed.

The blaze happened Friday afternoon at West 30th St. and Alba. HFD says the fire was in the garage and was put out quickly.

We're told no one was home at the time, but the family's pet Chihuahua died from smoke inhalation.

There is no cause yet. Arson is investigating.
