Arson investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire that caused an estimated $30,000 worth of damage to an abandoned house in southeast Houston.
Firefighters arrived to find a home in flames on Lorraine Street and Chase Street around 9:15 p.m. Thursday night.
Crews quickly got the fire under control.
Neighbors in the area said homeless people would sometimes squat at the house, though none were found after the fire.
Fire officials didn't report any injuries.
Investigators believe the fire started in kitchen area.
