Family court judge cleared of wrongdoing in case of falsifying documents

HOUSTON – Harris County Family Court Judge Denise Pratt was cleared of any wrongdoing following accusations of falsifying court documents.

She was accused of backdating documents to hide delays in rulings for her cases, but a Harris County Grand Jury no-billed her.

Pratt expressed her relief that the investigation was over.

"I had a lot of people who believed in me and stood behind me and lifted me up in their prayers and knew that I had done nothing wrong. I'm very pleased with the outcome. I've worked very hard for the county and the families of Harris County and I'm anxious to do that some more," Pratt said.

The jury decided there was not enough evidence to prove any misconduct.
