Employee robbed, pistol-whipped outside bakery in southeast Houston

HOUSTON - Houston police are searching for a suspect who robbed and pistol-whipped an employee outside of a bakery in southeast Houston on Thursday.

It happened in the parking lot of the Arandas Bakery in the 9800 block of the Gulf Freeway.

Police said a suspect approached the employee, beat him with a gun and took his wallet.

The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to LBJ Hospital. His condition was not known.
