HOUSTON – A 10-year-old girl is in serious condition after a hit and run in northeast Houston.
Police said it happened around 11:15 p.m. Saturday at the Crofton Place apartments on Crofton Street and Tidwell Road. According to reports, people were having a party at the complex when a fight broke out in the parking lot.
Jerry Thomas lives nearby. He said he knew right away all the noise wasn't just fun and games.
"It was loud, real loud. I was laying in the bedroom. It was real loud," said Thomas.
Police said after the struggle, several men got into a car and peeled out of the parking lot, not paying attention to where they were going. The car hit a 10-year-old girl, who was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The car fled the scene; no suspects have been taken into custody.
The victim's name was not released.
