Driver killed when cement truck crashes, flips in Sugar Land

SUGAR LAND, Texas – The driver of a cement truck was killed Friday morning the truck crashed and flipped in Sugar Land.

According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, two men were traveling in the truck around 5 a.m. when it crashed on Crabb River Road at Highway 59.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann-Sugar land Hospital.

The truck is situated about 600 feet south of the U.S. 59 northbound feeder road.  Officials say it will take a while to clear the scene because the truck is full of cement.

Drivers attempting to enter the highway from Crabb River Road are being diverted through the Greatwood neighborhood.
