HOUSTON – A driver was injured in a major car accident in south Houston.
It happened around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday on Sam Houston Parkway near Highway 288. Harris County deputies said a man was driving a Porsche on the feeder road when he lost control and hit a curb.

The convertible flipped several times in a grassy area next to the freeway.
Emergency crews transported the driver to the hospital in stable condition. Deputies said if he hadn't been wearing his seat belt, the accident would have been much worse.
The driver's name has not been released.
