HOUSTON - The family of fallen Houston firefighter Daniel Groover is getting some much-needed help.
Tuesday the Greater Houston Retailers charitable foundation made a financial donation to the family.
Groover died July 9 while battling a two-alarm blaze in the Kingwood area. He served with the Houston Fire Department from 21 years.
The donation came from 1,700 convenience stores in the Houston area.
His family says the donation was a surprise for them and they are very grateful.
