Dickinson ISD offers teachers a pay raise

DICKINSON, Texas – School leaders across the state will be taking notice of one local school district.

Dickinson ISD officials said it secured pay raises for its employees simply by conserving energy.

District officials said it saved so much money on electric, utility, and natural gas bills, it can afford to give every employee a raise next school year.

Teacher will get a 1% across the board raise plus the "experience raise" they get every year. That equals an average raise of 2.2% increase per teacher.

All other employees will also get a 2% salary increase.
