HOUSTON - A deadly shooting in the parking lot of a northeast Houston grocery store will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
Detectives said a man agreed to meet with two other men in the parking lot of the Fiesta in the 10400 block of Jensen Drive on Thursday to buy used auto parts.
Police said when the man, who is a concealed handgun license owner, got out of his car the two men pulled out a gun and demanded his money.
Detectives said the man fired at both suspects. One suspect died at the scene. The other suspect ran away to a nearby field, where investigators believe a car picked him up.
Houston police recovered a gun in the field.
The man who fired shots was not hurt.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
