Chester Pitts gets married in surprise ceremony

Pitts planned ceremony with friends

HOUSTON – Local 2 Sports Analyst and former Houston Texans player Chester Pitts tied the knot Wednesday night with his longtime girlfriend LaToya Hutchins.

The two exchanged vows in a surprise poolside wedding at a boutique hotel in Houston's Museum District.

"Today has been a long time coming. The first day I met you, I thought, 'Who is this guy?' but you and your dimples made your way into my heart and have stayed there ever since," Hutchins said during her vows.

The two kissed for the first time as a married couple to an NFL theme song.

Chester Pitts planned the whole wedding with his friends and surprised Hutchins. Pitts proposed on Tuesday and Hutchins did not know she was getting married the very next day.

Pitts and Hutchins picked out the wedding dress on Tuesday.

Hutchins walked down the aisle with a string quartet from the Houston Symphony playing in the background.

Nineteen people were in the wedding party, including their adorable 6-year-old son, Chester III. He was the ring bearer.

The groom and bride's friends flew in from around the country. About 85 guests were on hand for the ceremony.

"I had no idea. I wasn't expecting this. I was expecting to go to the court house," said Hutchins.

The wedding ceremony was accented with light shades of pink and lavender. The flowers were pink and lavender roses, hydrangeas and orchids.

The guests' chairs were also draped in lavender satin and tiny silver bells.

"I had mixed emotions. At first, I was happy because I don't have to deal with the stress of putting together a wedding and then I was angry because of the purple gowns. But you know, they did a great fabulous job, no stress. I just basically had to show up." said Hutchins after the ceremony.

The couple was asked how it felt to finally be Mr. and Mrs. Pitts. "Totally elated very happy," Chester said.

"I'm on top of the world," said Mrs. Pitts.
