Car hits utility pole, driver dies

"He had to have been going 80 miles an hour at least," said a man who saw the crash.

Juan Contreras lives in the apartment complex nearby. He told Local 2 he and a friend rushed over to help the driver after the crash, but he was already dead.

The impact caused live wires to fall on the car and made it difficult for emergency crews to help the driver.

Power to the area has been restored.

The name of the driver hasn't been released.
