Burglary suspect leaves behind passenger with broken leg after crash

HOUSTON – Police are searching for the burglary suspect who crashed a truck into a railroad crossing arm in east Houston and left a passenger behind with a broken leg.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers were responding to a burglary alarm early Friday morning near Canal Street and 65th Street, when they discovered that the suspect had plowed into the control arm. A Union Pacific train was passing by at the time, but was not damaged.

Police said the man got out and ran away, leaving a woman behind in the pickup with a broken leg. Officers took her to the hospital.
