Best air in Houston could be found on city buses

Device promises to clear air of potentially dangerous pathogens

Headline Goes Here

HOUSTON - The best air in Houston could soon be found on a city bus.  That's thanks to a couple of Rice University seniors.

The students created a system for public transit that would clean the air of pathogens that could potentially lead to tuberculosis, influenza and pneumonia.

The $500 device is called "Fluproof" and its creators say it kills 99 percent of airborne pathogens and sterilizes air on city buses.

METRO says it will consider making the design a part of its buses.
