Attic fire forces man from Southeast Houston home

HOUSTON – An electrical fire forced a man out of his home in southeast Houston early Tuesday morning.

According to the Houston Fire Department, the homeowner was reading when he saw the smoke and heard flames crackling around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

That's when he ran out of the home and called 911. Firefighters responded and were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

Firefighters managed to contain most of the damage to the roof and the attic, which is where investigators believe the fire started.

No injuries were reported.
