Armed robbers target north Houston apartment complex

HOUSTON – One apartment complex in north Houston was the target of two violent robberies in just two weeks.

Surveillance cameras caught armed crooks roaming the property of Rose Garden Apartments near Parker Road and Airline Drive.  Police said four men robbed a 55-year-old man at gunpoint in the parking lot of the complex, then took off in a Crown Victoria.

"I think something should be done about it," said one resident.  "I got [sic] kids, too."

That robbery wasn't an isolated incident; on May 1st, two men held a shotgun to the heads of victims while they robbed them.  That time, they drove off in a red Chevy Malibu.

Veteran HPD investigator Frank Heenan said it's unclear if the suspects in the first robbery were the same as in the second, but police said it is clear the crooks targeted the first person they saw.

If you have information about either of these crimes, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
