Armed men leave car, money behind after gas station robbery

HOUSTON - Police are searching for a pair of armed robbers who ditched their getaway car along with stolen money in North Houston.

According to Houston police, the two men walked into a Citgo gas station and demanded money around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. One of them held the clerk at gunpoint and pistol whipped him, then took the money and drove off in a red car.

Investigators found the car a few blocks away with stolen money scattered around it.

The injured clerk was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
