Investigators said HFD Ambulance 28 was turning onto Fountain View Drive headed south when a man in a pickup hit the ambulance's side mirror.

The driver did not stop, so the ambulance followed him all the way to Westheimer Road.

A second HFD Unit arrived to help. The medics in that unit got the driver to stop at the intersection, but he continued to threaten them.

Eventually, they were able to calm the suspect down. At that point, a Department of Public Safety trooper drove by and stopped.

The trooper handcuffed the driver and gave him a field sobriety test, which officials said he failed. The man was arrested.

Officials said there was minor damage to the ambulance and the driver's pickup.

No injuries were reported.
