5 arrested during Sugar Land drug bust

Police: Weapons, drugs, stolen property found in house

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Five people were arrested by SWAT team members during a drug bust Friday morning.

The Sugar Land Police Department's SWAT team was called out to serve a narcotics search warrant at a home in 1200 block of Harbor Town in the Misty Lake subdivision.

SWAT team members forced their way into the home around 6 a.m. They used a flash-bang device and wanted one person in particular, officials said.

"There was an individual living inside the home who was a known gang member who was involved in narcotics," City of Sugar Land spokesman Doug Adolph said.

Police recovered weapons, narcotics and stolen property.

Neighbors said the residents have been problematic for a while.

"They tend to harass people that are walking by," said a woman who did not want to be identified. "We had a neighbor who walks her dog twice a day, and they told her to get off 'their' sidewalk. They are just very threatening."

Local 2 investigates did a property search of the home, and it appeared the owners of the home were not among those arrested.

The following men were arrested on narcotics, weapons and counterfeit money charges:

  • Olaonipekun Adeleye, 19
  • Olatunbosun Adeleye, 21
  • Akpofure Gbenedio, 17
  • Wole Ogedengbe, 19
  • Denzel Roberts, 20
