3-alarm fire consumes vacant church

PASADENA, Texas – Flames consumed a vacant Pasadena church on Friday afternoon.

The three-alarm fire broke out on Red Bluff near Jasmine about 3 p.m.

Vibrant orange flames shot out of the building and black smoke could be seen for miles.

Houston firefighters helped Pasadena firefighters battle the flames.

The roof of the church collapsed.

A neighboring day care, Klazzy Kidz, was evacuated in case the fire spread.

The building also once housed a funeral home.

Officials said the building was made of wood. It was destroyed.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Police believe it may have been deliberating set.
