"In my experience this is someone most likely somebody who has been in involved in some sort of crimes before and thinks nothing of this type of behavior," said Sgt. Tamara Spencer, with the League City Police Department.

Police said the crime spree began in La Marque, when a newspaper delivery man was carjacked at a Valero on Main Street just before 3 a.m.

"Not five minutes after that we got a call about a shooting," said Sgt. Chad Wagner, with the La Marque Police Department.

Wagner said the two men are believed to have used the car they stole from the gas station during a robbery and shooting at a game room on Main. Wagner said the the owner of a game room was closing his business when he stepped outside and the men fire five shots.

"One of the shots hit the owner, the other four hit his car," said Wagner.

Wagner said the owner was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"He's doing as well as expected," said the game room owner's wife, who did not want to be identified. "Walking around as much as he can. We're lucky he's still here. Bullet missed artery and veins and stuff like that."

It appears the crooks thought the owner was carrying money, when he was simply carrying various items out of the business.

Less than an hour after the shooting, League City police received a call a man had been carjacked at a Chevron station on FM 646 near the Gulf Freeway.

Spencer said the bandits were still driving the truck they stole from the delivery man when they carjacked another man at gunpoint and took off in his Ford F-150 pick up truck.

"The only thing that they told the victim when the gun was held to his head was they told him not to look at them," said Spencer. "The victim thought it was joke so he did actually turn and look at the subject who repeated don't look at him."

Police said the delivery man's truck was found abandoned on the side of the freeway a short time later, and the stolen pick-up was spotted by officers on Galveston Island. Police said the officers chased the men before they jumped out of the pick-up and ran off.

Neither has been caught.

Police said they also detained two other people who were in the back of the pick up, but both denied knowing the truck was stolen.

"One woman even said she couldn't understand why the driver wasn't stopping for police," said Spencer.

Wagner said there is surveillance video from all three crimes and investigators do "have a good idea" these men are from the La Marque area.
