HOUSTON - Crews are investigating a two-alarm fire at a southeast Houston shopping center.

Houston firefighters say they arrived at the business on Beamer Road near Hughes Road on Sunday around 3 a.m.

Crews said they found heavy fire and smoke coming from a shop in the center.

The fire then spread to nearby businesses.

Firefighters said they had to go on defense before pulling a second alarm.

According to crews, they had difficulty establishing a water supply because the fire hydrants were not close to the building.

No one was injured.
