100 Club accepts check in honor of fallen firefighters

HOUSTON – The Houston 100 Club has accepted a check in honor of fallen HFD firefighters.

Loomis Sayles Investment Fire presented the $50,000 check on Monday.

"Loomis Sayles Investment Firm has been a friend to Houston Firefighters for over 20 years," said Houston Firefighters' Relief and Retirement Fund Chairman Todd Clark.  "We are honored they chose to recognize our fallen heroes in this generous way."

The 100 Club is an organization dedicated to supporting firefighters and law enforcement in Harris County and 17 surrounding counties.

Since the tragic motel fire in southwest Houston on May 31 that claimed the lives of four HFD firefighters, the organization said it has received donations from the community totaling $817,000.

The 100 Club said it has given $916,000 to the survivors of the fallen firefighters and 13 injured firefighters and their families.
