HOUSTON -

Houston to Dallas in the time it takes to watch a movie. It could be in the state of Texas' future.

A new report from D Magazine quotes a Texas Tribune reporter talking about the high-speed train.

The report said a member of the Texas Transportation commission  has confirmed that Texas Central High-Speed Railway is studying the possibility of a Dallas-Fort Worth to Houston rail line.

The trains would travel 200 miles an hour, making it a 90-minute trip.

That's far less than the time it would take to fly which can take three hours or more if you factor in parking, security and other factors.

It's unclear how long the viability study of the project will take or when the project will be up for approval.

Texas Central High-Speed Railway said they would like to get it up in running in the next decade.
