Texans watching Peyton Manning's every move during workouts

DENVER, Colorado – For three days in Denver this week, the Houston Texans are getting some quality time against the legend -- Broncos QB Peyton Manning.

"Anytime you have a chance defensively  to go against a Hall of Fame quarterback, a guy who runs the operation at the line of scrimmages and recognizes things consistently and easily for as long as he's done it, it's always going to help your defense," said Texans head coach Bill O'Brien.

Facing Manning on a Sunday is one thing, but an extended sample size this week can only make you better. After all, he's been ripping apart defenses for 15 years and has 65,000 yards passing and 491 TD passes to show for it.

When Local 2 Sports asked what makes Manning so special, Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph said, "Being the same player from the day he came into league to now here  in the present. He's going to challenge you in every facet of defense."

This week in joint workouts in Denver at the Broncos training facility, the Texans are getting an up close extended look at Peyton Manning's "LAB."  It is in practice that he fine-tunes every aspect of his game to make sure his receivers and offensive line are all on the same page.

Manning's work ethic is contagious so there's no doubt that class is always in session. Texans QB Ryan Fitzpatrick for one is watching his every move this week during workouts.

"Yeah, of course. I think everybody can learn stuff from him," Fitzpatrick said after practice. "I'm constantly learning things from everybody whether it's coaches or other players, whoever it is. Some of it is sitting there watching and some of it is talking to guys. Yeah, it's a constant learning process."
