HOUSTON -

A teen who spray painted graffiti on the space shuttle replica has been sentenced to write letters of apology to President Barack Obama, NASA and Harris County residents.

Jesse Calloway, 19, was sentenced to two years of deferred adjudication for vandalizing the shuttle replica outside Space Center Houston.

As part of the sentence, Calloway will have to serve 30 days in county jail and pay a $2,000 fine.

After receiving an anonymous tip from Crime Stoppers, deputies say an extensive investigation lead to the charges against Calloway. Other suspects are believed to be involved, said Precinct 8.

On Nov. 27, 2013, deputies say they were called to Space Center Houston located to investigate the vandalism to the mock shuttle.  Center officials reported that sometime between 11 p.m. on Nov. 26 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 27, individuals, including Calloway, breached the perimeter of the facility and spray painted vulgar and racial messages along the right side of the recently installed mock shuttle.
