Teen shot in head along Brays Bayou

Police: Suspect jumped out and started shooting

HOUSTON – Investigators are looking for the suspect who shot an 18-year old girl in the head while she was walking along Brays Bayou.

It happened Friday night as the teen and her boyfriend were walking in the 8800 block of Braeswood near South Gessner.

Christiana Johnson has been in intensive care for nearly three days.

"She is going to be able to live with the bullet in her brain," said Shelia Johnson, Christiana's mother.

One of the bullets hit Christiana in the leg. The other hit her in the head, where it will remain, according to Christiana's mother.

According to police, shell casings were found at the scene, likely from the shooter's gun. The victim and her boyfriend were not able to get a good look at the suspect, since it was dark and they were wearing a hoodie.

Police hope someone may have seen something or know someone who has information.
