BAYTOWN -

A 15-year-old student is accused of assaulting a teacher at Goose Creek Memorial High School in Baytown.

The incident occurred on Tuesday.

According to Baytown police, a teacher in the school's behavioral improvement class called for security because the student was swinging his fists.

During the incident, police say the teacher was hit in the arm.

When the school resource officer arrived to the classroom, the student tried to take the teacher's radio, police said.

That's when the student swung at the teacher, but the teacher stepped back to avoid being punched.

Officials say the student was already on probation for assaulting a school principal.

The student has been charged with class C assault.
