Teen charged in woman's killing at Sealy motel

15-year-old accused of killing Lisa Camille Land

HOUSTON – A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a woman's death at a motel in Sealy.

Sealy police said 30-year-old Lisa Camille Land, a mother of five, was living at the Best Budget Inn in the 1200 block of North Circle Drive.

On Friday, when the motel manager went to Land's room to check on her rent, he said Land didn't come to the door. He said he saw a person looking out from behind a curtain.

The manager said he went back to the room a short time later and found the door to Land's room cracked open. He then found her body.

Sealy police and the Texas Rangers arrested a 15-year-old male in connection with the killing on Monday night. The teen was taken to the Fort Bend County Juvenile Facility.

Detectives said that the teen had recently moved to Sealy from the East Bernard area. He was also living at the motel with his mother, investigators said.

Officials have not said if the teen and Land met before the killing.

The motive for the killing has not been released. Land's sisters hope the suspect will be tried as an adult.
