Teen charged for allegedly shooting man in head during drug deal

HOUSTON – A man is facing charges for allegedly shooting another man in the head during a drug deal.

Jonathon McCrimmon, 18, is charged with murder. Houston police say on Dec. 12 three males in their late teens to early 20s, and all acquaintances, got into a vehicle to conduct a narcotics transaction in the 10600 block of Edgar.  One of the males pulled out a gun and a struggle ensued.  At some point during the struggle, Samuel Quinton Thompson was shot in the head.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.  The driver of the vehicle drove to a vacant lot in the 9500 block of Scott Street and called 9-1-1.  Thompson, 23, was then taken by HFD paramedics to the hospital where he died the next day.

Houston police say further investigation identified McCrimmon as a suspect in this case and he was arrested Dec. 13 without incident.
