Dog goes missing during transport overseas

HOUSTON – Bunji is a Shepherd mix, about five years old and 60 pounds. He is missing and no one seen him for the past two days.

"Knowing especially his owners aren't here to look for him, I just want to get the word out that he's missing and where to look and who to call," said resident Kim Carter.

Kim Carter lives in west Houston, the area the dog was last seen. Bunji's owners are not living in Houston anymore and they had arranged for their dog to be shipped to them in Trinidad and Tobago, but during the transfer process at the West Houston Veterinary Medical Association, things went terribly wrong.

"As they were getting him out of the car to bring him into the vet clinic, he got passed them and, he's a little skittish and got passed them," said Carter.

There is a $1,000 reward for anyone with information to Bunji's location.

But until that time, Carter and her friends say expect to see more of the fliers going up around the intersection of Briar Forest and Eldridge Parkway.

"We're trying to organize more groups to come out and meet, plaster more fliers at the major intersections and apartment communities and the stores."

Anyone who has seen the dog is asked to call 832-283-8892.
