(WXIA) – Three Cleveland, Georgia, teens are facing felony charges for secretly recording cheerleaders in the girls' locker room by hiding in the ceiling.
The incident happened on Oct. 19 at the White County Ninth Grade Academy.
"We had three juvenile males who decided to do what we call peeping Tom on the girls," said Sheriff John Foster of the Cleveland Police Department.
While the cheerleaders were changing, three ninth grade wrestlers, all around 15 years old, climbed into the ceiling, moved ceiling tiles and peered in at the girls. When a tile fell, the girls looked up, saw the boys and their cellphones recording them. One of the girls took action.
"She was brave enough where she waited on them to come down out of the ceiling and she sent for help," said Foster. "As they were getting out of the ceiling, they deleted the videotapes."
All three teens have been charged with felonies: peeping Tom, conspiracy for their plan to videotape the girls and invasion of privacy. They were served with juveniles warrants.
