SUV stolen in northwest Harris County with child inside

HOUSTON - Police are investigating an incident involving a stolen SUV with a with a 5-year-old inside.

According to officials, the blue Ford Expedition was left running while the driver went inside the M&R Liquor store on 13133 Louetta at Grant.

Investigators said deputies and the father of the 5-year-old were able to track the car by using an iPad that was linked to an iPhone that was left inside the car.

About 12 minutes later, a deputy spotted the stolen vehicle on Highway 249 and initiated a traffic stop.

The suspect, Thomas Glass, was arrested. The child was found unharmed in the vehicle.

Glass, 51, is charged with felony theft and endangering a child. He was transported to the Harris County Jail and is being held on $15,000 bond.

Deputies say no charges have been filed against the father at this time.
