A SUV crashed into a concrete wall and rolled over around 11:30 p.m. Friday night while on the Interstate 10 exit ramp from Interstate 45 north.
The driver of the SUV started to take the exit ramp when the driver's uncle grabbed the steering wheel. The uncle, who was in the passenger seat, tried to stop the driver from taking the exit.
When the uncle grabbed the wheel, he accidentally jerked it and caused the driver to lose control.
The driver skidded sideways and crashed into the concrete wall. The impact caused the car to roll over the ramp.
The uncle was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in serious condition after the crash. The driver was also transported to be checked out for minor injuries.
