HOUSTON -

Officials said two people were injured after an SUV lost control on the slick roads early Friday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday on Center near Thompson in west Houston.

Authorities said the driver of the SUV was speeding when he lost control, skidded off the road and slammed into a utility pole.

Officials said three men were in the SUV at the time of the crash.

The driver of the SUV was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition. The front passenger was also taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Officials said the back passenger was not injured.
