Police said four armed men ran into the store and ambushed the employees and customers.
According to Shenandoah police, one of the suspects forced several of the employees and the customers into a break room at gunpoint, while the other three suspects used their guns to force the manager of the location to open the safe where cellular phone products were stored. After stealing a number of cellular phones, all of the suspects ran out of the store.
Authorities said a Good Samaritan was in the parking lot and saw the suspects run from the store and get into a waiting white van. That person followed the van, but lost sight of the van as it escaped onto David Memorial Drive going northbound. The Samaritan then found the van behind the Park at Woodmor Apartment complex on Shenandoah Drive, but the suspects were gone.
Police said a second witness saw all of the suspects get into a black Dodge truck with a tool box and drive off. A parked vehicle was hit in the process.
Officers arrived quickly at both the AT&T store as well as the apartment complex, but the suspects were gone. Investigators said the van was stolen from Wharton, Texas last month.
Based upon witness statements and video surveillance, the suspects are believed to be black men who were last seen wearing jackets and hooded sweatshirts with bandanas over their mouths. One suspect was wearing a black baseball cap with the Cincinnati Reds logo on the front.
