Suspected drunk driver smashes into apartment complex in Pasadena

HOUSTON – A Pasadena woman is in trouble with the law after plowing through a gate, ramming into at least seven cars and hitting a corner apartment in Pasadena.

Police say Crystal Ann Sauceda admitted to drinking and driving Wednesday morning when she was handcuffed after the crash at the Cinnamon Ridge Apartments on Spencer Highway.

Investigators say Sauceda drove into her gated community at around 3 a.m. but slammed into seven parked cars in the process, as well as the entrance gate and unit.

No one was hurt, but police say Sauceda caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage.

Billy Gardner was asleep but was woken up by the crashes.

"I heard the noise but I had to get up about two hours later, so I laid back down thinking it was a neighbor hitting the wall. But I came out about 6:30 a.m. and this is what I came into," Gardner said.

Sauceda, 23, is charged with DWI.
