HOUSTON – A family is safe after their minivan was hit by a suspected drunk driver.
It happened around 2 a.m. Friday on N. Shepherd at Tidwell in north Houston.

Houston police said a driver was speeding when he ran a red light and hit a minivan with a family of three inside. Both vehicles spun around and hit another vehicle that was stopped at the light.
Authorities said one man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The father, mother and small child inside the minivan were not hurt.
The driver who ran the red light was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Names of those involved were not released by police.
