Suspect surrenders after SWAT scene in NW Harris County

HOUSTON – A man has surrendered after a SWAT scene in which he barricaded himself in a northwest Harris County home.

The incident happened at around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. We're told the suspect was alone in a residence in the 19100 block of Brownstone Mills Drive. Deputies say the man was possibly armed.

According to deputies, it all stemmed from a family disturbance. Someone pulled out a gun and the family called deputies for help. That's when the suspect barricaded himself inside.

He surrendered at around 4:15 p.m., deputies say. We're told he was arrested on charges not related to this incident, specifically for an outstanding warrant for felony criminal mischief.

No one was injured.

The street was closed to traffic during the SWAT scene.
