Suspect sketch released in fatal shooting in night club parking lot

HOUSTON – Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect in the fatal shooting in the parking lot of Breakers Cabaret in southwest Houston.

Homicide investigators had the area surrounding the club on Tanglewilde Street and Westpark Drive blocked off for hours early Friday morning as they tried to piece together exactly what happened.

Police did say multiple shots were fired, and that windows at a nearby business had been shot out.

"At the club there was a disturbance, and [the suspects] got kicked out and that's as far as we know," said Shawn Overstreet with the Houston Police Department.  "Witnesses on the scene heard there was a shooting."

Police say a number of unknown suspects fled the scene in unknown vehicles.

The suspect is described only as a black male believed to be in his 20s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 250 pounds. Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect.

The identity of the 23-year-old victim has not been released.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect(s) in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
