HOUSTON -

The man arrested on capital murder charges in connection with a triple homicide in northwest Harris County appeared before a judge Monday morning.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force captured 25-year-old Johnathan Sanchez Sunday in east Harris County.

Sanchez is charged with capital murder in connection with the Nov. 20 shooting in Cypress.

The Harris County Medical Examiner's office has identified those killed in the shooting as 21-year-old Yosselyn Alfaro, 17-year-old Veronica Hernandez and 17-year-old Daniel Munoz. Two others were critically injured.

A prosecutor says investigators are trying to determine a motive for gunfire at a suburban Houston apartment that left three people dead and two wounded.

Harris County Assistant District Attorney Anna Emmons said Monday that the suspect, Johnathan Sanchez, threatened to kill the person who lived at the unit and the tenant's friend a day before the shootings.

Sanchez appeared in court Monday and was ordered held without bond.

Sanchez's attorney, Skip Cornelius, said Monday that he did not yet know enough about the case to comment.
