According to officials, Hollins had pulled out a gun and demanded the mail carrier's wallet. After taking the victim's money, police said Hollins fled on foot and is believed to have left the area in a dark blue Hyundai Sonata with paper tags.

Police said it was Hollins's vehicle that led police to his identity. On Wednesday, a witness reported to police that she had seen a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle northbound on Cullen Boulevard. The witness copied down the tag number and called police.

Hollins has been charged with aggravated robbery, which is a first-degree felony.

Authorities said they also believe Hollins is responsible for the burglary of his grandfather's residence in the 1300 block of Starlight Bay. Hollins has also been charged with burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony.
