HOUSTON -

Police are hoping surveillance video will help them identify the five people wanted for questioning in the deadly shooting at a southwest Houston game room.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. on March 27 at the Lucky Star Game Room in the 10900 block of Bissonnet.

Houston police say a security guard was shot dead during what investigators are calling a suspected robbery.

Houston police say three men and two women were inside playing the electronic slot machines when one of the men confronted the security guard.

Officials say as the two struggled over the guard’s gun, a second man joined the attack.

At least two shots were fired, according to police.

Police say the men then robbed the other people inside the game room before all five people drove off a silver two-door Honda Accord and red Nissan Sentra with tinted windows and a rear spoiler.

The guard, identified as 53-year-old Rueben Portillo, was shot in the head. He was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital where he died the next day.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts or identities of any of the people in the surveillance video should call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
