HOUSTON -

Two Belgian surgeons have discovered a new part of the human body.

In a paper published in the Journal of Anatomy, the surgeons claim they've found proof of the anterolateral ligament in the knee.

The anterolateral ligament (ALL) sits toward the front and side of the knee, and connects the femur to the anterolateral tibia, Medical Daily reported.

According to the journal, three percent of humans do not have this ligament.

Surgeons said their findings could help doctors better repair knee injuries.
