HOUSTON – Because of the Seattle Seahawks win in the Super Bowl, there are a lot of happy Gallery Furniture customers.
Some of them who participated in Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale's Pigskin Promotion are getting at least $6,000 back, while being allowed to keep their new furniture.
All of those customers had their furniture delivered Sunday so they got to enjoy it during the game and then enjoy the fact that it was free.
"Seven million (dollars). I have got $7,000 of that. I am pretty stoked," says Tony Bracy, promotion winner.
Tony Bracy spent Super Bowl Sunday rooting for the Seahawks, even though he is a huge Broncos fan.
"I am a Broncos fan because I love Denver so much and I am a huge fan of Peyton Manning," said Bracy.
But no matter how big a Peyton Manning fan Bracy is, he knew if Seattle won, he would win $7,000 of free furniture. He was one of the lucky customers who bought furniture during Mattress Mack's Pigskin Promotion, meaning he will be refunded for every penny he spent and get to keep his new couch, rug and mattress.
"The publicity; he is just an honest guy. It is a great company, everybody loves that company. I think it will come back ten-fold, and you know what I will be back again," says Bracy.
We caught up with Mattress Mack Monday morning on his way to work and even though he ended up losing $7 million, he is happy for his customers and says it will benefit his business in the long run.
"A lot of phone calls from my friends asking me if I was OK. I am great. It is all about customers. We knew what we were doing when we went into this and the customers won and that is the best outcome we could have had," said McIngvale.
Winners will receive their refunds at a party on March 1.
For those of you who are wondering, he does not have insurance for this and says he will be paying it out of his company.
