Students accused of leading officers on chase

Police: Teens skipped school

HOUSTON – Four teens have been arrested, accused of leading officers on a chase in southwest Houston, police said.

Houston police said the officers saw four male and one female teenager hanging out near Madison High School around noon on Tuesday.

When the group saw the officers approaching, the driver closed his door and took off at a high rate of speed, police said.

The officers chased the group from two minutes, until their car stopped at a nearby gas station, police said.

The driver is an undocumented citizen from El Salvador who's facing a felony charge and could be deported, police said.

The other students were given tickets for truancy.
