Student pepper-sprayed at school

HOUSTON – A high school student was pepper-sprayed on campus Friday, school district officials said.

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District officials said a student because upset at Cy-Fair High School and picked up a bottle.

A police officer on campus pepper-sprayed the student to protect him from hurting himself or others, school district officials said.

The student's mother was called to the school and the student was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
