Street racing could be blame for deadly motorcycle crash in north Houston

HOUSTON – A motorcyclist was killed Monday and another is on the run after a crash in north Houston.

Police said racing may be to blame for the wreck.

Investigators said two motorcyclists may have been racing along Parker at Northlane when one of them crashed into a car.

Officials said the victim was westbound on West Parker Road and drove on the white stripped lane that separates the east and westbound lanes in an effort to pass two vehicles. 

A black Scion TC eastbound on Parker, turned left into an apartment complex and the driver of the motorcycle struck the Scion and was ejected from the motorcycle. 

That motorcyclists died at the scene.

The other left before police arrived, investigators said.

No one else was injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
